While the potential of LCA for sustainable development makes no doubt for experts in the field – including the LCA4Regions partners! – it is in some cases relatively unknown, especially from industry and government. Many studies, good practices and success stories exist to demonstrate the benefits of LCA, but are they effectively shared? To promote LCA, it is important to reflect on how to build a critical mass of people with the right capacities. Regional authorities have a role to play in developing LCA, and so have science and education.
The main objective of the proposed conference is to show the impact of climate change on fire risk and its effects in the Raya area. To this end, joint tools will be created to facilitate risk management in the cooperation territory through the capitalisation of results, knowledge and good practices. FIREPOCTEP will not only improve the cooperation and coordination of fire brigades, but will also serve as an example of best practices in circular economy for obtaining energy from forest plant residues, for which training actions for citizens and joint tools will be carried out.

Next Thursday, 06 May 2021 at 17:00 Brussels time, the final ceremony of this open innovation programme (www.accelerathon.eu) will be held to boost innovation in the Alentejo-Algarve-Andalusia Euroregion in the fight against Coronavirus and climate change. This initiative is co-financed by the Ministry of the Presidency, Public and Interior Administration of the Junta de Andalucía.
